Liverpool recorded an astonishing victory in Paris in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie, with Harvey Elliott scoring the winner. Alisson, though, was undoubtedly man of the match, as he made nine saves to keep the Reds' clean sheet intact as they came under intense pressure – the most he has ever made in a Liverpool shirt. They will now have a slim lead to take back to Anfield.

Throughout the game, PSG mustered 27 shots on goal, while Liverpool only managed two. Alisson has now claimed that he has never played better, although he admits that Arne Slot's side had to "suffer" through the 90 minutes.

WHAT ALISSON SAID

Alisson told : "It was probably the performance of my life. The manager was telling us how hard it would be to play against PSG, how good they are with the ball and that we would have to be ready to suffer. We knew what was coming. We worked hard. We gave away so many chances, sometimes one v one but the biggest part of the chase is having someone make the player with the chance think a bit more.

"All the efforts the team put in makes my job easier. Then at the end Harvey [Elliott] coming in and scoring the goal, it is a great story for us. A great night."
